Sandy Hands Pottery is a boutique handmade ceramics brand inspired by the breathtaking coastline of Western Australia. Created from a home studio on a rural property in the South West of WA, every piece is crafted slowly and intentionally using superior-quality porcelain clay to bring the feeling of the beach into your home.
The beach is my happy place, and each collection is inspired by a real Western Australian beach capturing its colours, textures, light, and atmosphere in handcrafted pottery designed to be both beautiful and meaningful.

Welcome to Sandy Hands
Hi, I’m Penny.
Thank you for visiting Sandy Hands Pottery. I thought I’d introduce myself and share a little about the inspiration behind my work.
I live on a small property in the South West of Western Australia, where I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
The beach has always been my happy place. It’s where I find peace, slow down and reconnect. I love the changing colours of the ocean, the textures of the sand beneath my feet and the feeling of time standing still. Those moments have inspired every collection I create, and my hope is that each piece brings a little of that feeling into your home.
Some of my happiest childhood memories are of our annual family holidays to Busselton. We travelled in a big bus that had been converted into accommodation, and as kids we spent every possible moment at the beach. We’d pack our little kindy cases full of Dinky toys, build farms, roads and tunnels in the sand, and play happily for hours.
My dad was a swimming teacher, so beach holidays also meant swimming lessons no matter how cold the water was or how many jellyfish happened to be around! Looking back now, those memories make me smile.
Years later, my own children developed a love of surfing, so I spent countless hours sitting on the beach watching them catch waves. Today, I have seven beautiful grandchildren who share that same love of the ocean. Some of my happiest moments are now spent watching my children and grandchildren enjoying the beach together, creating memories of their own.
Every piece of Sandy Hands Pottery is handcrafted with those memories in mind. The colours, textures and glazes are inspired by the places I love most, and no two pieces are ever exactly the same just like the beaches themselves.
